Y'all act like companies like exxon have the average workers interest at heart. The only way these skilled workers get paid what their talent is worth is because of unions. Sure some unions including USW can be corrupt but you think companies like exxon are on the up and up?
If there is an enemy and good guy in this situation, you think companies like exxon are the good guys? And the middle class workers are evil?
Give me a break. y'all are pissed off at the wrong group.

The BR refinery union is also USW.
USW leadership (above site) hijackings without allowing site union voting is nothing new.

You pay dues to a union that doesn’t have your best interests at heart…. You pay the price.
You don’t have to pay dues if you don’t want to. TX is a right to work state.
I feel bad for the craft workers that wants nothing to do with this, but is included.

Y'all have no idea the details.
So you think Tigerdroppings lacks posters that are informed about refineries on the gulf coast?

Found the operator on their phone with feet kicked up inside AC’d shelter. I’m sure there’s some housekeeping that needs to be done

This. When you join you can choose to pay or not pay dues. But regardless you don’t have a choice on being represented or not. You’d be surprised the percentage that don’t want USW representation.

I suspect not giving the membership the opportunity to vote on the proposal will not be favorable for USW.
They offered to extend the current agreement for another year. So whats to vote on? Lost wages? Higher insurance?

They are bought and paid for by nasty Democrats.
Union leadership is.
Rank and file members are largely Republican in many areas. That's why Biden is making such a huge union push right now. They are very nervous about the erosion of what used to be a 100% bloc vote for Democrats.

With refinery margins being shite, I’m sure Exxon is considering whether scaling back production is a beneficial option.

This guy doesn’t know whether Beaumont is making money or not.

They have been bargaining since January and can’t reach an agreement. ExxonMobil has a proposal. Why not let the members vote on it? Is the membership too dumb to make the decision?

Another union cut down is a win for America
Despite the problems with some major unions this kind of thinking is insanely ignorant. Unions are at least supposed to protect the workers from corporations fricking over their employees such as this situation

Very funny. Actually no. I am corporate with daily dealings with the union. I see their need for balance sake. Good of you to try and be cute though.

Tell me in what job you work in corporate environment that has daily interactions with union. Curious

Oh bullshite
And with the situation with the current oil and gas industry, they better be damn happy they have jobs.
The white collar Exxon workers have faced layoffs, pay cut, bonuses cut, and probably stock plan/401k hits, etc
I know that had happened at the other majors

Sometimes it's like that. Exxon is probably wayyy off on their offer of what the union members have already stated they want. Remember, most of these negotiators are not union big wigs. These are hourly workers that represent the masses.
