yeah since that's the same as what happened here..
A wrong member of a business calls in LE in error and someone got jacked up in both situations. While not EXACTLY the same, it is sure parallel.

Ask the cops that removed him
I'm still not convinced they had legal standing to do so.
If United claims he was booted for being unruly after he was boarded for the simple reason of him asserting his right to a seat, the cops could shoulder some blame here. It's their job to evaluate the siuation and enforce the law, not to become the airlines hired muscle.

United Apologizes for Removing Passenger: ‘No One Should Ever Be Mistreated This Way’

United Airlines apologized on Tuesday and said it would review its policies after videos showed a passenger being forcibly removed from a full plane to make room for its own employees, setting off public outrage.

Having electronic devices on while the plane is sitting at the gate is not against the law, policies, or rules. Why would you escalate what is already bad behavior?
You may as well have told all women under 50 to pull the girls out for the duration of the flight.

dude...what time was the plane schedule to leave Chicago? 5:40pm? they weren't going to drive to Louisville if there was a chance they could fly.

I just can't get over United's stance for the first 24 hours considering they removed a passenger for their own crew to ride. It is hard to be that out of touch with the national pulse.

I can. Twitter has been hilarious today. You can only hope the idiocy continues and they do something like this again.
Even better would be a poor earnings report and the stock tanks.

But you agree that's plausible?

That had rows of frequent fliers and other travelers protesting the treatment of another passenger. It was pretty clear that they fricked up.

They certainly wouldn't want to inconvenience their employees by asking them to fly on a different airline or through a different airport when it is so easy to beat the shite out of an elderly passenger for his seat.

You just don't get the nuances of operating an airline for profit

I've had some bad experiences with United and to be honest, I'll very likely do whatever I can to never fly with them again after this story.
