In fairness, if my job description was trading pills for blowjobs, I would be in a hurry to get to work, too.

That was before the $1.4 billion dollar drop. I'd wager to say the CEO probably realizes the mistakes that were made and is not currently happy

So this is like fake news right.

And is now only down 443 million.

Correct. Market does not care, they used it to make money

United Airlines Stock Drops $1.4 Billion After Passenger-Removal Controversy
Already recovered most of that in morning trading. Investors know that isolated events like this don't really hurt domestic airlines much. Most people won't care after a couple of days and will go back to looking for the best price at the best time/route to meet their needs. If it is United, they will book it.

There's very little elasticity with demand but I wouldn't be so confident. At the very least with each passing statement, the likelihood of consumer backlash increases
Posted on 4/11/17 at 11:58 am to DarthRebel
Exactly. This whole situation may increase United's market cap. Which would be even funnier.

Why would it increase it? Best (and most likely) case is it has no lasting impact either way.

Best I can decipher is their cap was 22.5B start of Monday..it's gone down since to currently, 22.17B. People are buying up outstanding shares as the price drove down. Noteworthy is the stock value was at $40 and change last summer, now pushing $70. Trying to remember what happened last summer that it tanked so hard. Is it cyclical or was it happenstance?

There will probably be a bunch of people buy into it right now because the stock will go back up and actually help the company

What a dumbass CEO
At the very least, he's tone deaf by sending that email to employees.

Key words are MY SEAT. This MF'er bought, paid for, and claimed it. There is a reason you called it MY SEAT.
frick their wee policies and stupid rules. There is fundamental right and wrong and this is a big, fresh, stinking, steaming pile of wrong.
Maybe CEO Oscar can release some more bellicose, obtuse diatribe and send his stock down even further.
Blaming rape victims may be next. Was this old, bleeding guy wearing a short skirt?

The CEO just let his employees know they have the green light to use the aisle to grate their customers' faces.
To be fair, the injury was caused by airport security. While I feel bad for the guy he needed to take a stand elsewhere once security got involved.

I can't see any scenario where I have to be dragged out of a plane by 3 police/security. Would I have been happy to give up my seat, no. But somewhere around the 3rd time of being asked by the police to vacate my seat, I would have got the hint that this would not turn out well for me.
this
this shite is 100% on the passenger. If you are told to get off a plane you get the frick off the plane. If you are on your way to some sort of emergency you beg the people around you to switch with you but throwing a temper tantrum is not going to keep you on that plane

the tide will turn now that it's known he's a felon that traded drugs for gay sex. the relationship was kept from his wife and 5 kids. he's a POS and will end up on the no fly list.
The character of the individual removed from the plane is irrelevant.
His behavior does had relevance to how the situation played out. But the main issue is how United handled the situation. They basically said FU to four random passengers because they felt they could do so without repercussions.

Correct. However, it's the way things are done these days. Deflect the blame and try and paint the other person in a worse light. It's immoral but not illegal.
