Yup. This is a disaster for them.
Literally everyone can picture themselves told they have been randomly selected to be removed from a flight, and the absolute nightmare that would ensue.

well they seem to have a new strategy...quit releasing statements reinforcing the negative public opinion of your airline, and start publicizing this guy's skeletons...

the tide will turn now that it's known he's a felon that traded drugs for gay sex. the relationship was kept from his wife and 5 kids. he's a POS and will end up on the no fly list.

Friendly skies are not so friendly anymore. Especially, when still sitting on the ground.

Thing is, I would've loved to be offered $800+ in vouchers and have to wait a day to get home.
That was a legit AF offer

I can't see any scenario where I have to be dragged out of a plane by 3 police/security. Would I have been happy to give up my seat, no. But somewhere around the 3rd time of being asked by the police to vacate my seat, I would have got the hint that this would not turn out well for me.

Can you imagine the shitty workplace atmosphere every United employee has to deal with right now?

Shitty? The CEO just let his employees know they have the green light to use the aisle to grate their customers' faces.
That place sounds great. I just sent in my application.

I couldn't be happier, either.
I swore last year that I would never fly United again, after a bad experience flying home from up north.
I'm not going to post a wall of text describing what happened, but it was just a string of events that left me thinking that United was run by the Three Stooges on quaaludes.
Their terminal at LaGuardia looks like a third world shithole, with zombies operating the gates. I saw them try to de-plane and board the same plane through the same gate, AT THE SAME TIME. No shite.
They deserve whatever the free market hands them, as far as I'm concerned.
