There were a bunch of 747's at Heathrow a few months ago, but it's been a long time since I've seen one in the States. And 40+ years since I rode one.

there are plenty of them still flying and probably will be for some time

DL management, just like NW, has sold their future lr/vlr soul to Airbus.

Delta is also the largest operator of the 757 - which is probably an airframe Boeing should never have stopped making.

hard to resist when airbus is practically giving them away, which they literally did to get a foothold in the US market, helped Jet Blue get off the ground, so to speak

Bombardier basically gave the C series away to Delta to get into the US market.

it's such a better jet than the A321, Boeing would probably invest in upgrades but the US airlines just want cheap

if you really want to fly one, KLM operate a daily service from Houston to Amsterdam on 747s. Flown that route many a time now.

I was walking through the Denver airport a couple of weeks ago and there was a 747 at a gate with a big crowd and signage and stuff.

Wasn't sure what was going on but I just looked it up.

Or the 737...which Boeing seems to keep stretching to cover the gap left by the 757.

The 737 Max 10 will probably be a big seller, but it is still leaving a gap in the market for Airbus to exploit.

Gave the Transcon/West Coast-HI market lock, stock, and barrel to the A321. Not to mention the NEO's capability to service non-trad US-EU markets.

Fredex and Ooops now want Boeing to keep the 763 line open.

787 and 777 are bringing about the death of the 747 and A380

A380 is a massive waste of money
Yay socialism

They'll probably have to rework the gear.

Or they had to do it to survive because of Boeing's deals with politicians.

As long as the Asian/Arab Airlines have to have the biggest, newest pig in the sky- status outweighs operating economics - there will always be a market for those infected with shiny jet syndrome.
