This girl went to school with my oldest daughter, she was a wild one. You still don't want a family losing a daughter at that age and by a freak accident.

4 door truck she was sitting on the door with her body outside the truck. Fell out and landed on her head, broke her neck.

Now that makes sense. At first I envisioned her crawling out of the back sliding window of the truck and she could only fall into the truck bed-----if it had a bed. If not, then she gets run over by the wheels or beaten up by the rear end after the fall.
Dumb arse move, but still too young to go out like that. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The article implies he hid the alcohol. Maybe a lawyer can contribute here, but I’m sure her drinking and being....unwise....will be a mitigating circumstance and this will get plead down.
Terrible thing. And yeah, she was being stupid, but knowing Union Parish a bit, I’d imagine riding around drunk either on the backroads or Lake Darbonne is about all there is to do for young people during the summer. Still stupid, but probably pretty common in small downs across the U.S.
Thoughts and prayers to all involved. And as a father who is terrified of his kids driving and riding with friends in the next few years, I hope these stories serve as reminders of how precious life is and how just 1 bad decision with a car can end it instantly.
