I have actually found the people in Boston to be very hospitable and friendly.
In my opinion, the entire state of Pennsylvania contains the rudest, most unfriendly people.
After that, Washington D.C. is pretty unfriendly. I've found that it is very who you know, where did you go to school cliquey there (e.g., "Hello Jack, I went to Woodberry Forest Prep, University of Chicago Undergrad, and William & Mary law after." "Hi Tom, impressive. I spent my youth at Phillips Exeter, went to Cambridge, and interned with President Obama before attending Yale Law. Oh, and by the way, I finished top five in my class."
Dallas is also somewhat cold and fake to me. It is very "Keep up with the Joneses" and surface level friends only imo. I've found Houston to be substantially friendlier and more welcoming.

In my experience, I'd say Washington, DC.
Everyone seemed to hate their life when I was there.

Pretty accurate between NY and Philly, however, I agree with the guy who said they are busy and frankly they are just used to treating each other like dirt.
If you actually start up a conversation with someone, they are really caught off guard with kindness.

McGehee, Ark. If you're not from there they let you know you're not welcome. Real clannish people there. At least it use to be.

Seattle. People there just seem like they're all pissed off at the entire world for some reason. That's a miserable segment of the population there. I had to pay $.10 extra for ketchup at a burger place there. Not for each extra condiment but for ANY condiment. Oh, you want something to dip those fries into? That's gonna cost you.
frick those people and frick that entire city.
this wasn't my experience at all in Seattle. Everyone was friendly and hospitable when I went.

I'd probably agree. Weird place.

New Orleans is definitely unfriendly. I’ve gotten into it with cab drivers, bouncers, bar tenders, employees at the super dome, and smoothie king center.
They’re used to drunk arse holes so they’re trained to treat everyone like one. It’s not fun for me.

Lol ... this.
My brother in law went to St Albans Boys School, then Vanderbilt, followed up by a graduate degree at Georgetown. His brother went to Yale, UVA Law School and worked in the Bush Administration. And they’ll let you know it, but not as bad as other people.
We were up there last year at a party and a girl asked my wife and I where we lived. When we said Houston her face looked like she smelled a bad fart.
frick that town.

Boston
I've only been to boston once and it was several years ago just for fun. I got there before the rest of my crew so I had a few hours to kill solo so popped into a local bar near the hotel. It was empty, there were maybe like 2 patrons in there, I make my way to the bar and ask the bartender "hey there, can I start a tab?" He looks me right in the eye and says "you gonna buy something?" It was then I knew I was no longer in the south.

Right. Imagine if he had to pay for each of those condiments. He would've told them to frick off like I should have in Seattle. Then he would've died in that snow all because Taco Bell wanted extra money for those condiments. Taco Bell is the real hero there.
Amazon-1000 ketchup packs from about $23 on up

The most obnoxious people that I've encountered have come from Philly and at the state level it's NJ. Hands down. I don't know if it's a matter of friendly vs. unfriendly as much as just awful human beings, but they set the standard.
