Well, I guess it's finally my turn to rant to the OT....

TLDR: Subtle, I can afford uber eats thread. Driver shady AF, scoping out my house like Antique Tiger at a Pokemon estate sale. Uber support DGAF. Can't even even enjoy a delivered meal anymore without being paranoid these days. SMH.

eta: Rant over

Short answer, don’t order food to the house. Easy way for intruders to scope it out for the future as well. Always stay aware of your surroundings

I just can't imagine having a lowly paid stranger deliver food to my house.

It's not bad once you've done it, I felt a little weird and hesitant about it at first too. The wife and I order once a week now as part of a tradition of sorts we've developed over the last year, and we've had no problems whatsoever.

It's nice because you can order at any time during the day and set the delivery for whenever, which means the kitchen at the restaurant doesn't make it until right before delivery. There's been a few times that ordering dinner that morning - to be delivered at 7:30pm - came in handy for us.

We usually do it on the weekends and have a little tradition of ordering our dinner, having a quickie before it's delivered, then eating and getting a little drunk while watching movies.

Did exactly that tonight and I regret no part of it

I had one driver text me through the app after the delivery, asking if he could bring his kids back later to go swimming. The chat session closed before I could respond. Not a threatening guy, but odd.

How long before a driver is asking where we got our shoes?

He was just smokin a blunt, no need to freak the frick out. Also when he saw the guy in his underwear he hightailed it in his stoned state

Anyone else have an interesting Uber driver story?

Not really, but one time my app said my driver was a white guy named Bradyn, and he was driving a Kia Soul.

The Kia arrived, but the driver was a black chick in a hoodie and yoga pants. The order was correct, and it was early, so I didn't think much about it.
