Did a search and didn't see where this has been posted. Just one more sad example of how today's college kids have lost there ever loving minds.

quote:

A resolution to honor the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks each year at the University of Minnesota was rejected by the student government there, with some students expressing concern that such a measure could foster “Islamaphobia.”

The resolution noted that the attack still has a lasting effect on many on campus, and “the events of that date are of immeasurable importance to the world we live in today,” and that the university has no formal memorial for that date on campus. It called for a moment of recognition on the morning of Sept. 11, 2016, and every year to come.

It failed.

I don't think this would contribute to Islamaphobia. There is already more than enough to go around.

The Islamaphobia thing is dumb, but these kids were 3-6 years old when 9/11 happened. It doesn't mean the same thing to them.

I hope everyone realizes that this is a small percentage of sjw retards who are causing up all this stink.

Sooner or later logical normal Americans will get enough of these parasites and put them back in their places.
Sooner rather than later hopefully.

This is one more reason why I vote the way that I vote.

First of all, we do not honor the attacks. Or hell maybe we do nowadays. But I have always been of the mindset that we are honoring the brave Americans who lost their lives that day.

could foster “Islamaphobia.”

No, what fosters Islamaphobia is the radical Islams trying to create Islamaphobia who go around blowing up innocent people. Honoring Americans killed in such manner does not foster Islamaphobia.

Basically, what I am saying is frick this bunch of liberal arse pussies who cannot see the disconnect in what they believe is reality and what is actually real.

I was once told that college were the formative years where you were being babysat while transitioning to an adult.

With stories like these, now I know that to be true.

So they would cool with the ceremony if a white guy had bombed the buildings?

These kids would be holding a daily ceremony if a bird was to shite on one of their heads.

The University is overriding their decision and going forward with a 9/11 ceremony anyway thanks to the backlash.

The thing is these ungrateful little shits are too young to really remember 9/11, so any trauma they would have remembered from that day is instead outweighed by today's bullshite PC environment. Unfortunately it will take another terrorist attack to get them to face reality.

Yeah, like slaughtering 130 people in Paris.

The ironic part of it all is that they go on-and-on with their fake support of Paris by changing their FB picture and putting up pics of the Eiffel Tower, but can't commemorate the 3,000 people that lost their lives right here in our country.

Pretty much. No one has a realistic view of the world while in college. I look back at the things I said or did and shake my head. I was smarter than everyone in the world back then. Now I'm just a regular moron.

I really don't expect college age kids to understand the full impact of what 9/11 did to change daily life in the country and around the world. Most of them were only 4-8 years old when it happened.

They're 19-25 or so years old. They should by now have the maturity to understand why honoring and remembering their fellow countrymen who died in the worst act of terrorism this country has ever seen is something that's pretty damn important. Pearl Harbor happened 29 years before I was born and even when I was a kid I understood the importance of remembering and honoring those we lost.
