Do you remember May?
The issue for the LEOs is that per department policy they have a burden to attempt to de-escalate. This is not a lot different than the Scheffler incident. LEO escalates a situation where there is obviously no real threat and makes the situation worse. Because the guy is famous, the cop will get in trouble. If it were you or me, we would be screwed.

I agree with the celebrity worship comment. My point is they knew who he was and he was on the way to play a football game. I think this occurred very close to the stadium. I think that a reasonable person would see the threat in this situation as low.

Speeding- rolls down his window to give dl & ins and rolls back up- cop wants his window all the way down the entire time . Not a reason to force him out of the car period. Then he's put on the concrete to hand cuff. Then jumped on to force to sit because he didn't sit fast enough for them. Then you gonna be a total ____ to others that are 30 ft away threatening arrest. They were jerks the whole time.
There's a ton of cop hatin pieces of crap out there ,and I get why in some cases . The majority are GOOD COPS. There's no reason they couldn't have written his tickets and handed them through the 3" crack in his window and him be on his way. Idiot cops deserve suspensions
As an officer who deals with people drugged out and shite and you don't know what's going on inside the vehicle. That's a risk that I wouldn't want to take. Would you?
And for Tyreek, and the scrutiny many black men take, I can understand him wanting his agent to know what was going on.

Tyreek did NOT watch the Chris Rock video on how to interact with the police.

Ty-Reek is a crybaby who is nothing but a diva. I just can’t watch the felon league anymore. College football is going in the same direction

Cops tell the man when he rolled his window down, not to park there. Does it anyway. Exits vehicle, cops says 4 times to get back in move. Dude stands there on phone like a jackass. Only after getting into an altercation, starts to tell cop, ok I'll move.
Like how fricking hard is it to not be an ignorant fricking prick
They have got to be aware of the many examples of shite gone wrong in the past and just going to stand there and ignore it as if they can't hear the command when you know damn good and well they can.

The biggest reason why I’m supportive of him in this instance is because he was in a rental car, from what I’ve heard, and he didn’t drop his name and job to get away, he simply said, get my tickets.
If it was felony speed they should have removed him from the car immediately if they were detaining him. However that isn’t how it went and they asked for his ID and gave it to them and just said write tickets I have to be somewhere soon. That is most definitely his right.
Seems like most ppl on here don’t understand their rights and or just don’t like the guy.

I don't think the police are taught just how far a "please and thank you" will go toward cooperation. Even hardened street gangs will usually acquiesce when spoken softy and politely to.

He was given three opportunities to roll it back down and 30 seconds. Florida law is very clear on this

end of the day it will be dropped and the city will be sued because the cops violated his rights and procedures. It was unnecessary.

I’ve had 6-7 speeding tickets. I’ve never been pulled out of the car and hand cuffed face first in the concrete by 3 or 4 cops manhandling me. It was a dramatic overreaction to a situation that didn’t need to be escalated by an officer who clearly wanted to escalate.

The one cop continually escalated the situation. What I don't get is why didn't one of the other cops step in and de-escalate the situation? Tyreek handed the one cop his license and rolled his window up, he then rolled it back down and was asked to get out. At that point, they didn't even give him a chance to get out before manhandling him.
