Tyler Gray stepping down as Head of LA Department of Energy & Natural Resources

Prior to his appointment by Gov. Landry, Mr. Gray was the President of the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association (LMOGA).
Correction Update: Mr. Gray worked for Placid Refining a between his stent at LMOGA and his appointment to LA DNR Secretary. Thank you, ForeverLSU.

I haven't the slightest idea. I'm guessing it'll be another person who has a good bit of their post-college career in the political/NGO/lobbying business, rather than someone who has spent a good bit of their professional career in the energy industry itself in some form or the other.
Would be cool if Gov. Landry went the route President Trump did, someone like a Chris Wright to head LA DNR and see how that works out.

None of these people have lasted under Landry. It’s been non stop shuffling. Probably because he’s a fricking moron.

Is it normal for there to be this much turnover among high level appointed positions?
Seems like 3/4 of Landry's initial executive branch appointments have left or stepped down since 2024.

Update from KLFY. Their title and quote from Gov. Landry makes it seem like it was his decision to make the change at LA DNR and not Gray having something else come up, but who knows with the way media reports things these days.

He named Julia Fisher-Cormier as deputy secretary and Eric Dauphine as assistant secretary of project delivery at DOTD. Dauphine was named as deputy secretary in June to aid Secretary Glenn Ledet in creating the framework for the new Office of Project Delivery.
The new office aims to streamline projects, while the Office of Transformation, led by Fisher-Cormier, will oversee efficiency.
