Do some of y'all ever watch the news? They don't just show up somewhere randomly and start filming.

The guy was a loser personally and professionally who kept playing the race card to make him feel better about himself. He's just pathetic and wanted people to actually pay attention to him.

I think underneath all these shootings, whether or not the perpetrator latches onto race, religion, politics, bullying, etc, they're just pathetic and they have nothing going on in their lives. Nothing that gives it meaning. And there is something just off enough in their brain to make them believe killing people and becoming infamous will make their lives matter

If it wasn't race he would've found another excuse, same with Dylan Roof. If anything is "to blame," it's the media obsession with mass shootings as well as gun obsession by Americans in general

There's a synced video on Liveleak (Recent Items Section) and it looks like he deliberately waited until she was on camera before shooting. He stands behind the cameraman who is filming scenery until he swings around to film the interview.

Does this story remind anyone of that movie Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal?

I just watched that movie and I felt like one of the slimy news producers watching those videos this morning.

you esp. have to feel for the photog's fiancee... who was in the control room as the shooting happened

she had any number of screens in that room to watch her future husband get murdered live

Tragic and not trying to diminish this in any way, but neither the cameraman nor the reporter were seen taking bullets. The reporter was seen screaming and running away a split second before the camera fell to the ground.

However, they definitely had audio of the reporter screaming.

'm somewhat confused after the sheriff presser. His blowing point was the Charleston shooting. But he idolized the Virginia Tech & Columbine shooters? Sounds like a ton of rambling that doesn't make any sense. Especially when former coworkers from across the country have called him a trouble maker and someone who was looking to be offended by others.

you take a whole lot of crazy, throw in some racism, paranoia, and a dash of workplace disgruntlement. You mix it all together and you get this guy.

im wondering the same thing. when he first started walking down the boardwalk towards them he was directly in front of the woman being interviewed not to mention his feet are clanging on the wood really loud.

The first shot went into the reporter, watch the PoV video.

I thought the same thing. But when doing a 1 on 1 you usually are very focused on the interview. Kind of like tunnel vision

Didn't look like it to me. Either that or she took it basically without flinching.

they didn't see him because the lights were on. their priority was making the interviewee comfortable and to get the story. they were focused on their job and had no idea this wacko would walk up and kill them point blank.
