Dont be dense. Im not saying everyone has to buy american ships or register them in US. Im saying we shouldnt rush into a situation when the countries these ships are registered to dont even care. There are plenty of privatized security companies they can hire if they want protection. They probably wont be much help against a torpedo, but if you want our protection/benefits register your boat here and pay your share. Build the wall.

You're making such a big deal over the registration. We have more U.S. owned ships registered in other countries than we do here. frick helping them if they are in need?

Those waterways are also very important to our shipping. It would be a disservice to our ports to not intervene if needed

I guess I could also argue that you're required to assist a vessel in distress if you are in the area.

Yes but Number 1 on that list was keeping them intact as a chess piece against Iraq aggression. Sitting back and watching those two battle for a few years in their pathetic excuse for a military action kept them busy and kept them from causing problems elsewhere in the world.

Now that Iraq isn't a problem anymore, and since they probably have a couple nukes now, Iran can flex it's gym muscles a bit and make the world notice.

Of course when a middleweight starts running his mouth to a heavyweight, it's pretty easy to foresee the eventual outcome that will occur.

I’m not because I live in the middle of nowhere in Louisiana, I also have no doubt the US military could destroy command and control along with most other threats without a single troop on the ground but that doesn’t mean Iran couldn’t get a few blows in before that happens.

More than likely the Saudis probably attacked the ships, to get the US to fight Iran for them.

USA doesn't really care though, cause the military industry can make money selling weapons
