The Webster Parish Sheriff's office confirms the first happened around 2 a.m. Sunday involving a 24-year-old Barksdale airman from Illinois.

According to Webster Parish Sheriff's Office Deputy Chief Bobby Igo, the man was airlifted to the hospital, but later died.

The second crash reportedly happened around 11 p.m. Sunday, involving a 30-year-old female. She, too, was airlifted and later died.

So they have one fatality, and business as usual the next day. Awesome.

Few additional details are available, as the park is on private property in Sarepta and the sheriff's office does not typically investigate incidents on private property unless foul play is involved or suspected.

Never been but I'm pretty sure you gotta sign a ton of waivers, but still lawyers will sue anyway, the guy that owns it is beyond wealthy, I'm sure they have an arse ton of insurance etc.

My question is why do people pay so much to go to these places? My brother asked me to go one time then added it would be $140 for us to get in the door. frick that.

I know right?? To go get stuck in the mud and drink and see a bunch of trashy hoes and neck tat folks, it's mostly a brag fest where people show off SXS that have a note larger than their trailer

It's trashy as frick. 16 & 17 year olds dancing and stripping on poles on top of ATVs while all your rednecks hoot and holler and film it. Classy place in the middle of BFE

Accidents at 2 AM and 11 PM. I'm sure that alcohol wasn't involved. I wonder if we have an involuntary manslaughter charge coming.

I've been to Mudfest in Colfax. We signed one waiver when we were driving through the gate, and that was it.

IMHO, they shouldn't be allowing anyone to drive after 10pm, but people drive around the entire night just doing donuts and shite. It was bad enough, that I left the next morning.

Totally of topic but in 1982 I knew a girl at LSU from Sarepta. She was awesome.

10pm the magic safety number? You think people can't get drunk or high enough before then to wreck shop or have an accident? Bad things happen and it's unfortunate. Shutting a ride down at 10 wouldn't do squat but piss most of the people off.

They sign a waiver and it is supposed to be no open containers (only drinking in your roped off camping area), no nudity, etc..... I have yet to see police enforce any of the rules unless someone is driving reckless and posing a threat to others.

Honestly I'm surprised this hasn't happened a lot more, it's a perfect storm of ingredients for really bad stuff to happen.
