Well, to be fair, they're usually at a closing speed of about 800 mph. I don't think container ships are pulling that kind of speed.

Well I played a fair amount of 'Battleship' board game growing up but there wasn't a "container" ship on either side so I really don't know.
I find the behavior of the southernmost ship very peculiar though. I also chuckle when I think about how fast they were all excitedly talking.

I had 2 containers on the Maersk vessel. Thankfully, I have cargo insurance with a $1000.00 deductible per container.

it is hard to see how two ships that large could collide.
Big ships aren't exactly maneuverable.

It almost looks like the southern ship was trying to hit the other ship.

That graphic was so helpful. Two arrows on the end of lines running into each other really puts it into perspective
Those are GPS graphic overlays on a map. Were you expecting to see a satellite video clip?

You wouldn't even have to worry about this if you had your goods "made in America". Come on, we need your help to make America great again.
Maybe you can convince my customers to buy a lesser quality product at 6x the current cost.
But before you do that, go convince all of my competition to buy American at 6x their current cost with worse quality.
Don't hate me, hate capitalism. frickin commie.

Damn, that's some terrible driving. You could see a bit of that situation when you're coming up to someone in the hallway and keep moving into each others way, but damn. A ship isn't like a plane. A ship can actually stop, isn't moving 450 mph, and can stop. Just some freaking terrible navigation right there.
Any chance the Asian driver couldn't see over the steering wheel?

My bet is this...
Ship #1 Capt.
Ship #2 Capt.

Ship coming from the North should have turned port not starboard.

I read that both had their zero turn radius thrusters turned off.

The product in my containers is not even made in the USA anymore, so we have to get it from China. What are you importing?
