Two brothers, ages 14 and 12, lose both parents to coronavirus — 15 days apart

HOUSTON — Two young brothers from Houston said goodbye to their mother at the beginning of July, not knowing their father would also die 15 days later and for the same reason. Their mother Noehmi Esquivel, 39, and their father Carlos Garcia, 44, both died after fighting the coronavirus, the family confirmed to CNN.
Esquivel was taken to the hospital on July 2, and ended up dying the same day, her brother, Jacob Mendoza, told CNN. "My mom spoke to her and told her that it was OK for her to go home ... and not to worry about Carlos and the boys," Mendoza said. "[She] prayed over her in Jesus name and she passed away over the phone with my mom talking to her."
Then, just 11 days later, her husband, Carlos, landed in the hospital because of kidney problems. His family said he was recovering from coronavirus and it aggravated medical problems he was already having. "He was barely recuperating ... [but] when he went into the hospital, he was doing well," Mendoza said.
On July 17, his fourth day in the hospital, Mendoza said Garcia's condition unexpectedly worsened. "We had just gotten off the phone with him, and he sounded perfectly fine. He sounded like there was nothing wrong with him. And it surprised us when we got the call around one o'clock in the morning that he had passed away," he said. Both Esquivel and Garcia had diabetes and other underlying conditions.

Now, both of their sons Nathan, 12, and Isaiah, 14, will have to live with Mendoza and his wife. The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with the boys' living expenses and the community has rallied around them in their loss.
"At least, since [my father] passed, we get to be with our family," Isaiah Garcia told KTRK. "We don't have to go to an orphanage or anything. I'd rather be here than anywhere else right now."

That's sad.
Diabetes is no joke with this virus.

Pathetic excuse for journalism. There is only one purpose for this article and it’s to further scare you into submission.
frick CNN.

That’s terrible, no child should have to lose both their parents (at basically the same time)
I’m glad they have family to take them in

I feel like Covid death threads are a new game show called “How Fat Were They?” where we guess and they reveal their picture by raising the curtain.

I'm going all in claiming CNN is killing off people in the name of Covid19, in order to scare everyone else

Some of you really need to be happier in life.

Now I can agree with that most days.

That’s sad. I haven’t lost anyone close to me because of the virus but I know people who have. It’s easy to get political or dismiss it as a hoax or whatever when you don’t have loved ones succumbing to it.

It wasn’t my first thought, but I guess I should post meaningless thoughts and prayers on TD to let my e-friends know how empathetic I am.
They want to illicit an emotional reaction from you in hopes those feelings force you to comply.

So “they” orphaned these kids to get me to wear a mask?
FOX News has a story on their website about a 9-year-old girl dying from COVID in Florida. Maybe go “ree” at them about mind control conspiracies.

Why did they run this article? Was it informative?

The article you’re bitching about “informed” us of something, you just don’t like it because you see “thinly veiled media mind control!”
Honestly, do you think you’re so smart that you cracked the code of “control” while half the country can’t? How fricking effective could it be if you have it all figured out with a little internet homework?

Half the country are liberals soooo not sure why you’re insulting yourself.
I didn’t crack any code. It doesn’t take a Mensa member to figure out what CNN was hoping to accomplish with that article.
Unless you think they actually care about these kids
