Buddy Amoroso pushed as well.

Watson seems like he's a pretty legit dude too.

I know SHE is. But not others and the fact that they can still get decent lawyer salaries from the tax payer WHILE operating their own private practice is bullshite.

Attorneys in private sector around the parish are working 60 hours a week for that salary while they are pushing 30 and pimping their own personal injury and dwi defense business the other 30. They were called to task on it and it suddenly died. Hmmmmm.

I wish he'd have pushed as hard as Hudson. At times, it seemed to me that the older more established members were letting the new young guy be the firebrand while they could be more reserved in their opposition. I can understand letting Hudson do it because it's almost certainly not going to cost him anything when it comes time for re-election because 1) that's in three and a half years and 2) His district is not one that seems like it would be real friendly to the EBRCOA.

I just wish more of the members who were firmly on the side of reining in the EBRCOA would have been more vocal and pointed in their opposition.

no the new cea does give the council control. Trae Welch rehashed the finer details of that about 5 times before the vote. to me it's clear on the video. They went round and round on that shite. Comical that some has 12 different amendments, others had only 10. No one had seen this before, all that kinda shite. Very unorganized board. Was confusing just what they were voting on. Regardless of what the coa does, the metro will get to vote one of their won on. I forget his name, young bald fella, said he wanted 2, 1 wasn't enough. When the old white wife went to the mic she said she wanted racial equality on the board which the crowd loved.

not to get in a pissing match, but you are incorrect. watch Watson rehash the board appointments near the end of the meeting. Nothing changed except the language that now "requires" them to have a MC member on the board.

shite no, thats why I emailed him. All that shite got to be hard to follow. I gave him some praise in the email and asked him straight, if the metro had 100% choice of the coa member to be on the board. I should get an email back unless he is lurking here.

Welch, Amoroso or the other white guy who was the hard arse, Hudson. Not Matt Watson who seemed to be hitting on the new coa chick.

Welch voted "yes".

the discussion is not about who voted yes..it was about who asked the tougher questions to tasha and company.

For as tough as Councilwoman Banks was on the NBR Economic Development District Board Chairman, she was quite soft on the COA Board and director.

Fair enough, but I honestly don't recall him saying anything last night that makes me think he would. Seemed like I remember him being on the side of "well guys, they voted for it so we have to give it to them", but maybe I missed it.

You are right. I just got a reply from Weich. Heres what he said.
quote:

My belief is that the COA Seniors appoint the Council member as they have in the past. The only difference is that the current bylaws of the COA could be changed, therefore the CEA between the COA and the Parish now require a Council member. There is a member currently serving and will continue to serve, is my understanding.

thats quite disappointing since they had it hammered out for a hand picked by metro person. They really dropped the ball with that. Terrible job!

I think they're getting lost in the weeds here.

The point is that any members that served on the board or were executives of the COA prior to 2017 need to be purged.

I don't know all the laws regarding non profits, but they were talking about if they allowed appointed board members it would change their status.

Dwight "Rock" Hudson got stonewalled by people who I guarantee would agree with him and ask the tough questions.

Amaroso is a flamboyant cooter.

Chaunnnna misused about 19 words.
