Twitter will begin imposing penalties on users who claim that vaccinated people can spread Covid-19, according to a change quietly added to the website’s terms of service.

“When tweets include misleading information about Covid-19, we may place a label on those tweets that includes corrective information about that claim,” the website notes in a section detailing its rules about Covid-19 misinformation. “We may apply labels to tweets that contain, for example… false or misleading claims that people who have received the vaccine can spread or shed the virus (or symptoms, or immunity) to unvaccinated people.”

Isn't that true, though? Anyone can spread Covid, as far as I'm aware.

"High viral loads suggest an increased risk of transmission and raised concern that, unlike with other variants, vaccinated people infected with Delta can transmit the virus," Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the CDC's director, said in a statement Friday.

I'm as pro vaccine as it gets, but straight up lying is stupid. That's why everyone in the media flipped their shite with Delta (and Omicron), because with covid "original flavor" the studies were showing that vaccinated people were almost at a 0% chance of spreading it if they had a rare breakthrough case, but the new variants can spread if (ETA: when) there is a breakthrough.

There was even a study a while back that suggested that with Delta if there was a breakthrough case then the person shed MORE virus cells than their unvaxed counterparts.

Holy shite they are openly lying and don’t even care anymore. This has been proven even by Fauci’s own CDC and also acknowledged by Vaxholes.

Twitter has been shown to actively suppress the truth.

The policy could certainly be written better. You are misunderstanding what it means. A false claim would be that someone could spread COVID to others merely because they have been vaccinated. That is not possible.

They are not going to block someone saying that a vaccinated person who has been exposed or has COVID could spread it, which is true.

NO vaccine could be 100% effective, so don't waste your breath with the " Then why get vaccinated" nonsense.

After reading the complete new rules on Twitter I feel that the author of that article Rudy Takala has missed the point.

Granted Twitter has worded it poorly but it is pretty clear the intent is to mark tweets that state that vaccinated people who aren't infected with covid can infect others by shedding the virus. Something that surely most people realize is patently false? Vaccinated people can still get the virus and spread it, but vaccinated people testing negative aren't spreading anything.

So? Media, the government, businesses, schools, half of the citizens of the US treat the unvaccinated like they’re spreading Covid simply because they’re unvaccinated. Like unvaccinated people have the virus inside them because they’re unvaccinated. That’s not possible either but it’s mainstream thought.

I wanted to see the context because that seems crazy, but this is right from the Twitter Help Center

quote:

False or misleading claims that people who have received the vaccine can spread or shed the vaccine (or symptoms, or immunity) to unvaccinated people.

That's insane and 100% untrue. You CAN spread it to other people, vaccinated or not if you yourself have been vaccinated. And I'm someone who believes in the vaccine and will soon be boosted.

ETA: Wait a sec...it says "spread or shed THE VACCINE" to unvaccinated people. Yes, that is 100% impossible to do So either the OP is wrong, or Twitter has updated the post.

Even the OSHA ETS for vaccination, testing and face coverings states that people who are vaccinated can still spread COVID.

What conclusions can any rational person draw from the fact that there have been more cases and deaths this year with 70% of the population fully vaxxed than there were last year with 0% vaxxed?
