You need to deep fry it.
And eat a banana moon pie.

The Twinkie recipe was changed years back in order to extend its shelf life, back when Hostess was having financial difficulties.

The golden yellow color was the same as it had been, and it didn't smell any different. The cream filling was white and very smooth, and as creamy and sweet as ever. The sponge cake looked pretty much as it always had, but it was drier and not as soft.
The new Twinkie seemed to have less chemical aftertaste than the version that disappeared from shelves eight months ago: a bit surprising, since the shelf life has been extended from 14 days to 45. But the cake wasn't as fresh-tasting as the version I remember from my days at Continental Baking.

I just had my first Twinkie in several years and it was nothing like it was when I was little. This new version was more dry and cakey, nothing like the moist, greasy, spongy treat I knew. The cream wasn’t as creamy either. An unsatisfying, almost “bad” poor substitute, especially since I was expecting something so much better.
Don't complain. Nothing's as good as it used to be, and the poors are eating Soylant Green.

Foil covered Ding-Dongs in the Seventies edged out the Twinkie

I resisted the urge to buy a family size box of Little Debbie Swiss Rolls last night... and you all are bringing this back up under a different brand.

Suzy Q's are still excellent.

Nothing is like it used to be.
I haven’t had Kentucky Fried Chicken in years and it doesn’t hold a candle now to what it used to be.Chicken and slaw especially.
The heathy thing is killing the enjoyment of a truly delious meal.
Chocolate is our last hope.
