This tells me that the majority of the people polled did not understand the question.

Poor, fat, and violent is no way to go through life. Meanwhile in the greatest city in America
quote:

One of the healthiest cities in the country, Boulder residents report a greater sense of physical well-being than any metro area other than Barnstable Town, Massachusetts. A nation-leading 69.6% of surveyed Boulder residents exercise regularly. Only 13.3% of metro area adults are obese, the lowest share of any metro area nationwide. With opportunities for running and walking along Boulder Creek Path, rock climbing in Eldorado Canyon State Park, or other activities in the 60-plus public parks throughout the area, roughly 98% of residents have access to locations for physical activity.

A college education can improve an individual’s sense of control over their life and enhance their overall well-being. In Boulder, 60.6% of adults have at least a bachelor’s degree, the largest share of any U.S. metro areas.

It all starts with education and Louisiana and Baton Rouge lag greatly behind.

Baton Rouge does suck for anyone over 25. Really, you have LSU and bars. Both of those should be over by then

This could be said for essentially any important metric. That's why I brought my talents to the great state of Colorado where I could truly flourish and not feel surrounded by violence, chubbers, and idiots

ETA - if you don't fall into the violent, obese, or ignorant categories then feel free to join

I don't get the impression people in BR hate BR. There's a lot to like. Infrastructure and crime are major problems. A more centralized main area with a localized community would help.

I am a big believer in spending $$ on education but if "they" won't go to school and baby mama does not make them go to school and baby daddy is nowhere to be found then what are you going to do?

We keep throwing money at "education" but the desire starts in the home. I think that is why Baton Rouge is miserable....a large part of the population simply lacks desire and I don't see that changing in my lifetime.

The pretentiousness and general thought I am better than others has admittedly gotten out of hand. This article sums it up nicely. I wish I wasn't like this

However, this was more of an appropriate time to bring it up than usual as it was on the list

Sure there are bad things about Baton Rouge. And yes, New Orleans is a lot more fun than Baton Rouge. But, at least in Baton Rouge we don't have to fear getting killed or mugged or assaulted walking out our front door. That could pretty much always happen in New Orleans. In Baton Rouge, it's a possibility if you live in the shite hole NBR. You can live in the nicest area of New Orleans and still get car jacked coming home from dinner with your wife. Big fricking difference.
