Reports of Tulane University students partying in large groups over the Fourth of July weekend reached the dean of students, who issued a stern warning Tuesday.

quote:

"Do not host parties or gatherings with more than 15 people, including the host," Tulane Dean of Students Erica Woodley wrote in all capital letters in a mass email. "If you do, you will face suspension or expulsion from the university."

quote:

University officials are finalizing an enforcement plan for the fall semester, according to Woodley, but "it is clear that this message had to be delivered immediately."

Yikes.

Where does it say they could get bounced for a 4th of July party?

It appears to be a response to that party moving forward, no?

School’s not in session so what business is it of Tulane’s what students do on their time off? Tulane is Jewish and their tuition is over $55,000 a year so most of their students are out of state residents anyway.

“Oh I’m so sorry. That email wasn’t meant for protestors. Can we bring you guys any refreshments or drop some bad grades or fire a professor? Just let me know!”

The first question will be, “do you parents actually pay Tulane's ridiculous f*cking tuition or are you a 'scholarship' student?”

If the parents actually pay Tulane's ridiculous f*cking tuition, this will all go away.

So if gatherings of 15 are off limits they should go ahead and announce no classes this fall so students can adjust accordingly instead of last minute, right?

A lot of students who have apartments in the city stayed. Tuition for incoming freshman and sophomores who are required to live on campus is over $80k a year.

Yeah I dare them to enforce that against someone hosting a party off campus when not even enrolled in class. That's a can of corn lawsuit if ever there was one.
