The obvious answer for that thread is Adolf Hitler. You slap Adolf Hitler.

But that got me thinking:

I think we can all agree that Hitler wasn't born a racist dictator. Surely, in his formative years, he had to be a decent kid & a lovable baby, right?

So, at what point in time would it have been the right time to intervene in Hitler's life to prevent him from becoming the terrible version of himself we all know? And could any course correction of his life resulted in greatness for all mankind?

Discuss.

I think he was a like a loaded gun mental health-wise, and any trauma he experienced just pulled the trigger.

ETA: Unless you could either force him exhibit behaviors severe enough to institutionalize him at an early age, short of time travel, I think his rise was inevitable.

You would start by killing all the communists who tried to overthrow the Weimar. That prevents Hitler.

Why wouldn’t just go back further and slap his mother. Or, if that isn’t far enough back, Eve when she offered the original Baw the Apple!

There are a lot of deranged racists that never do what he did. The issue wasn’t how he got to the way he was, but that Germany got to the point where they accepted him as their leader. The gross over punishment of Germany as scapegoat after WWI is the point that turned Germany into desperate for extreme change and revenger

Do you contend that if not for the overthrowing of Weimar, any German that subsequently rose to power would have done what Hitler did, in terms of the Holocaust?

My contention is that if the several attempted communist revolutions wouldn't have occurred, then Hitler's strong disdain for communism and Jewish people would likely never have manifested.
