30’ tide changes are normal in that area
Yeah, for reference, here are global tide ranges. That area seas pretty extreme tides. Most of us are used to Gulf tides, which aren't that much.

If tweet fails to load, click here. There was a very slight rise at Sand Point, nothing major at all.

if you back it up in time you see how close the water was until now (if it's not just normal tidal range)
Weird.
I see the water retreating, even before the earthquake hit.
Looks like tide to me.

It isn't just gone, it is gone gone. The downgrade to Advisory happened a bit ago. The all clear has been given and the Advisory has been canceled.

Xwitter was better before they started amplifying all the hack "news" accounts. You used to be able to search stuff like this and find reliable accounts that specialize in this stuff. Now, unless you just happen to follow those type accounts you're just not going to see it.
Spot on
“BREAKING:” is translation for “I’m about to lie to you”
I miss when the checkmarks actually meant something.
Really glad this turned out to be a dud, tsunamis scare the shite out of me

I'm 40 miles from Mt McKinley right now heading for Whittier to catch a cruise ship Saturday. Hope everything is cleared up by then.

And this is why people will ignore the next tsunami warning, etc.
I'm certainly no geologist/ seismologist, and maybe there are no real distinctions between a real tsnumai threat and a potential tsunami threat, but claiming that a "tsunami is confirmed" only to be canceled is just going to make people ignore the next real one.

Do they have an eta on the earthquake yet?
Stupid woman. It’s a tsunami coming as a result from the earthquake.

The NOAA issues tsunami alerts. Geologists and Seismologists don't issue them.
