Yep

How much of a PITA is it?

Not bad.

Step 1: Fill out application online
Step 2: go to ID center on Bluebonnet
Step 3: scan fingerprints and pay $85
Step 4: give the finger to all the losers standing in TSA line taking their shoes off
Step 5: profit

I look middle eastern when I have a beard and if I travel now I purposefully shave because I was taken to the side finger printed, had rods and shite shoved into my walking boot. I also had my carry on unpacked in a side room that they made me go sit in for like 10 mins. I had a complete wtf moment at the time but I'm glad they arnt taking national safety lightly.

Only $15 more for Global Entry if you're gonna do any international traveling in the next 5 years. My interview is next week for it, got it free for getting the Prestige card.

Not a full body search, but got pulled aside because of an extra button sewn to my pants pocket.

Stop whining like a little bitch. I have pre-check and I still get randomly selected. I fly round trip every damn week and the small inconvenience of going through security is worth the safety it provides.

How many hijacking attempts or bombings have we had in the US since 911? I can assure you there are more thwarted attempts then you would care to know about.

Nope. For a time though I had about a 3-4 flight run of shoe checks. Right after the shoe bomber I apparently looked like a shoe bomber.

Precheck is the shite. I don't actually have it but some airports like Tucson and John Wayne will give it to you if you have an elite status. Well worth the money.

I haven't opted to pay for it, only because I'm normally selected for TSA pre-check.

I've never had an issue with this and I do it all the time. It could be that my dad was a pilot and I fly standby so I never know which flight I'll be flying back on.

All my flights for the past 15 years or so have been for military purpose. With all the headaches and aggravation I hear from people, I think I'd rather ride my bike across the country than deal with TSA, especially after hearing they rifle through baggage and steal things.

Don't you want that feeling of comfort going into the airport? Anytime I am flying back out of JFK, SFO, LAX, name any other large wait time airport (DEN) ...... I know I am going to go right through. Worth every penny. I also will write it off.

i used to travel a lot more, than I do now. But I get pulled for a random about once every 10 trips. Got pulled yesterday coming back from SFO. I didn't get a pat down, instead just swipes on my bag and hands.

They have actually gotten much better at getting people through security in the last few years.

I have, but it was because the scanner saw a revolver in my backpack. They were actually pretty polite during the whole process considering the circumstances. That was an expensive day, but I did not end up in jail.

I travel a few times a month too, and really thought that gun was at home!
