It’s kind of calmed down a little and the water has gone down a bit so that is good news. Looks like it’s about to start picking back up though

For now the heavy stuff is down to your south (I'm assuming you're in the Beaumont area). Looks like even a little bit south of Port Arthur. It's dumping on eastern parts of Houston now. You should expect it to again pull north later in the day but any break is welcomed.

Wish you and yours the best of luck.

ETA: Plenty of rotation around Houston and to the east. Ton of lightning. Aldine area appears to be under some of the highest rainfall rates I've seen so far on radar but generally riding a line from there to Baytown is under some very heavy rains currently.

This all seems so shitty. How much of this can the Gulf Coast take?

Best friend in New caney is flooding. They had to evacuate an hour ago with water coming in the house, luckily her husbands truck is higher up because her baby wagon is flooded.

Just up the road north of there...

San Jacinto in New Caney is rising much faster than the forecast projected...

It is.

Areas along the Gulf Coast do need to consider how and where the rebuilding happens and will happen in future flood events.

Damn. It wasn’t a hour ago but on the news the chick was outside of there in between the new HEB and the old one and the water was just flowing off of that whole parking lot. Was only a mater of time before it had nowhere to go. Plus that whole area towards mills branch has been flooding all morning. Sucks. I hope Three Bs stays dry but it’s right across kingwood dr so doubtful.

It’s coming down good in the Galleria area. Water is up to the sidewalks in front of my office.

DPS just reported 41" has falling along I-10 between Winnie and Beaumont in the last 72hrs. I've got several buddies headed that direction with boats, it's Harvey all over again in some areas.

SW side of the outer loop under the heaviest rain currently.

Southern Houston generally under heavy rain currently. Another banding feature setting up near Galveston and both converging SW of Winnie. Some backbuilding noted over near Katy and to the W.

I think I will be stuck here in uptown tonight. It’s flooded between here and my house and the forecast has it continuing until 7PM. I have a coworker in Conroe and he was barely able to make it home in his F250.
