Make it make sense.
It's a national morale move. Even if it's slow to be adopted by the private sector, it will be normalized. Make Christmas Great Again.

President Trump issued an executive order establishing two new federal holidays this year: Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas.
Trump is a good Christian man and he is doing a very Christian thing. One day 25th is not enough to celebrate Crhistmas. 24th, 25th and 26th should all be declared public holidays.

Eh... very few people are working those days anyways, outside of retail.

In a year like this year, that would cause banks (those that don’t operate on Saturday) to be closed 5 days in a row. That’s not a good idea.

is for me - Fed Holidays means Banks are closed, which means I am off.
I already burned a PTO day for Christmas Eve.
Maybe those of us who did will get a floating holiday next year.

All 365 days of the year are already paid days off for federal employees. What difference does one more paid day off make?
