Nah. The "protesters" in Portland are pros. They get paid for being full time "protesters". I don't usually get too upset over other workplace-related hazards and injuries.

In the US as long as you do not block vehicle or pedestrian traffic you may protest in the streets, sidewalks, and public parts (the trinity of "public forum"). You can block streets IF you have the proper permits which within a narrow scope are constitutional.
Again, as I understand what the Canadians are doing it would not be constitutionally protected in the United States. Without proper permits, I can not gather a group together and block the W-bound ramp to the Horace Wilkinson Bridge without proper permits, without those permits blocking/impeding vehicular travel is illegal and not a constitutionally protected 1A activity.
