Truck driver stopped by police for using red sports drink bottle in place of tail light

A Colorado truck driver got a little creative when it came to dealing with a broken tail light — and a local police department took notice.
Police in the town of Longmont, located around 38 miles outside of Denver, took to Facebook on Tuesday to share the humorous story. An officer had pulled over the driver, who had used duct tape to fasten a red sports drink bottle into the spot reserved for his tail light.
“While we appreciate the ingenuity of this tail light, this is not a permanent solution. Working tail lights prevent accidents,” the Longmont Police Department wrote on Facebook.”If your tail lights are broken, please get them repaired.”

It got glowing reviews on FB. I bet the guy is amped up about the ticket though.

They probably do but they decide to spend time on social media instead like 99% of government employees.

You don't think that warrants getting pulled over?
It's not like they shot the guy.

I guess I'm comparing it to what I see daily running around in LA.
Unsecured loads, people weaving, texting, running 80 on a space-saver, 17 kids in a 4-door Camry...
She didn't cite the guy so that's cool.
Hell, he at least made an effort to be semi-legal.

As a result the officer did not give him a ticket.
How hard is it to read an article before you comment?

Don't forget cars without a license plate or a temp tag.
