Before you judge, remember that Im new to Houston. Off 290, about 3 miles from the Beltway.

I think the northwest areas are usually ok. It’s southwest and west where they get hammered or areas too close to the bayous.

Which means you'll be driving back through it too.

Really hope you can get the shift to the end of the week.

I don’t post really ever, but This is super important to me. I am bringing my husband, who has terminal brain cancer to MD Anderson for his monthly check up tomorrow and his appointments are Tuesday. Do y’all think we should reschedule? I don’t want to get stuck in Houston with the

If you can move it, I would. I understand that probably difficult. Especially if you are coming from Louisiana, golden triangle can be pain in the arse to navigate after storms

Thanks! He was diagnosed right after Thanksgiving last year. We decided to go to Disneyworld and to renew our vows. We are very excited, but each day is hard. He just turned 40 in April and I’m only 35 so we are hoping his age is on his side. We are renewing our vows 10/16! Everyday is hard. But we try our hardest to stay positive.

That’s good to know. I do have a large reservoir near me but I just can’t see that big arse thing overflowing enough to affect me, but o can’t seem to get a straight answer from anyone about the 2016 floods. No one near me that I talk too lived here back then.

In Lafayette? I would like to contribute some libations to your party if that's okay. I can send it wherever you like - and I can even make it Abita if you want.

I will send you my email in a Private Message, so make sure you check the main OT page and look towards the top of the screen for a message.

Initials PH by any chance?
Either way, God bless and safe travels to Texas and Disney.

And happy vow renewal!

This isn't necessarily true. Lots of the NW areas flooded in the tax day flood. What major cross streets are you near? That said, if you're in a newer subdivision you're probably ok.

Ignore what I said before I thought you meant outside the beltway where the biggest areas of concern from what I remember were white oak adjacent.

If your closer to Roslyn park it’s better, but if your close to cole creek I would keep an eye in that.

I’m not that far from you in Oak Forest.

Assuming you're in that neighborhood north of Tidwell, not exactly ideal. That channel doesn't have a 100-year level of service. That said, with dry ground it should be able to handle the forecast rainfall.

I didn’t really spend much time up their until after Harvey when I started covering it for work.

Seems like they’ve done a good bit work with retention areas like the one on little York/Gunn, white oak bayou/belt way and cutten road

Curious to how much help all that does
