7:30 CDT Model Update. Does appear somewhat of a slight shift westward on track.

What's the size of this thing? Could BR dodge it all together if it wobbles further west?

How bad is Lafayette supposed to get hit? Getting pretty ugly outside.

I'm with ya Rummy. These drought conditions in Tx I'll take any rain I can get.

The direction it's swirling in the Gulf there no way we won't feel the effects of it.

Question for the experts or whoever wants to answer. Will the rain totals basically stay the same no matter how far west this thing tracks? Will it be the same if this thing hits the TX/LA border as it would be if it hits west of Galveston? I know the eye doesn't matter on the storm but as far as rain goes, just curious if it tracking west like that makes much of a difference as far as rain totals for south LA?

the landfall really doesn't matter, most places are gonna see the same amount of rain if not more, rather it makes landfall in tx or la

I believe the most damaging part of the hurricane is the northwest part. So yes, hitting swla will give lots of rain to the rest of south la

maybe i'm wrong, but i think it's track forecast was always to make landfall around lake charles. if that's the case, i think the rainfall totals were made with that track in mind.

of course, i'm probably way off on this.

Short answer is no, it will not be the same regardless of where it lands. Where it lands will matter.

ETA: Not that it will be major, but suggesting 60 miles one way or the other won't matter is wrong.

Good thing this isn't a hurricane

Might want to recheck that fact as well

I'm visiting someone in Shreveport Thursday, what are the chances of this remaining hurricane strength and should I get this person to board up their windows, since they will be in the eye after landfall?

Holy frick at the epicness of failure here.

1) Gocockboi. Seems like a fitting screen name.

2) I'm visiting someone in Shreveport. Great choice for a town to visit. Plane tickets to Helena, Montana were all sold out?

3) what are the chances of this remaining hurricane strength If a piddling arse tropical depression magically turns into something that is still a hurricane in Shreveport on Thursday, then frick ALL of our lives.

4) should I get this person to board up their windows If they live in the shithole that is Shreveport, then they probably already have their windows boarded up for safety reasons.

5) they will be in the eye after landfall? If this storm has a defined eye over Shreveport, then refer to the last sentence of #3

Rummy, if not for the great flood last year, would there be this level of concern? Seems like we normally get something like this annually.
