That's what I'm saying.

I made a post laying down the scenario that would really get me worried here in BR, not that I think it's a reasonable scenario.

20" across a large area is still highly unlikely. If you are just speaking in hypotheticals, yeah it would suck, but it is still just an unlikely hypothetical.

Looks like its stalling off the coast for a day, so it's possible. Maybe not 20 but 15, 2-4 inches per hour on and off for 24 hours.

Hurricanes generally dont hang around and rain themselves out like the sloppy disorganized storms. You may get other kinds of damage but not the massive rainfall.

You're right Jim. It's a worst case hypothetical.

Take that pressure from the HRRR with a grain of salt. It's designed for severe weather and thundeestorms, not for tropical system intensity.

That model isn't really designed for hurricane strengths, but its short-term radar forecast abilities is pretty impressive.

This is the most recent NAM, a similar style model, through 7 AM Thursday morning.

At least it appears to be moving fast and won't linger over the coast.

"Feeder bands" or in this case a large amount of tropical moisture is already sitting off the mouth of the river so I would say by 6-8 am it will be affecting the coast of LA

ETA: love the downvote for looking at a current radar and seeing a band already off the mouth of the river lol

From what I've seen earlier in the thread and on local news was 3-4 foot rise along the coast and western lake ponchartrain and lake maurepas

It starts at 0:00z (7:00 PM central) and goes 60 hours into the future.

Sorry I thought you were talking about the longer one, Yes you are correct.
