If it gets a name this would be Cindy,

Funny because this storm seems almost exactly like Cindy (2005?) in location and time of the year.

I don't understand why people have issues with these weather threads.
These guys know where to get good info and are here sharing it with us and explaining things.
Makes it easy for me to follow along to what is happening. It's pretty damn interesting for me

I'm not an expert, and I don't claim other's options are mine. I just have access to information that anyone else does, and I have access to some info others don't. I share with you guys, that's it.

Edit: cause it's on the bottom of the last page

Copy and pasting maps and bulletins from other credible websites and passing them off as your own opinions and forecast is serious business bruh

, the memes are hilarious IMO. I think the wishcasters suck just as much as the people who come in here to ruin any weather discussion (think Rag).

How many references on the 5pm news to "batten down the hatches?"

It'll be equal to the amount of "hunker down" references.

Yet every a-hole who gets the day off to stay home and "hunker down" will be driving the streets, going to the movies, or basically doing the exact opposite of what govt officials recommend.

Years ago Breck made the mistake of posting the stations phone number to have people call in and report storm damage. This was during a baseball game; not sure which one. People were calling in "Hey Breck, why don't you shuddup and put the game back on?"

Yup. Lili 2002. I remember that vividly. He also drew a line and basically said that anybody below it that didn't evacuate yet that it was too late and you should prepare for death and destruction.

We actually lucked out a little for that one though. It was sitting as a strong 4 but weakened to a 2 pretty much only a couple of hours before coming ashore.

While I always appreciate that info, it does the furthest thing in the world from this.

These threads are almost impossible to follow, people post a bunch of imcomprehensible pictures with no context given, and no one recaps anything whatsoever.

And they tend to whip people up in to a frenzy for minor events.

Still appreciate the threads and info, though.

Will this be done passing through by Thursday?

Recent models don't really suggest the rain will stop until possibly Saturday.

My house is off Milllerville and flooded in August. Would sandbags really be needed if they're expecting 16" of rain?

This from NWS Slidell. Doesn't look too bad for most of the area except the far SE. Hopefully it's accurate.

If you're interested in a pretty interesting discussion each day, check out Tropical Tidbits. His commentary is somewhat high level, and when it's technical, he does a good job of explaining what is happening.

Should be okay. We'll have to wait for the 18z GFS to be sure.
