I used to host trivia nights back in college at Brewbachers and a couple of other places, heard some pretty good ones and some pretty terrible ones. A couple of my favorites

- New Directions
- Oedipal Arrangements

I enjoyed playing NTN on slow nights at The Bulldog during the 1990s. When did this dry erase board trivia start?

You can always go with something re current events.
If you're in Baton Rouge, perhaps something about TS Barry.
Like "Hurricane Barry's levee toppers"
Or "Jim Cantore's extra small t-shirts"

Otherwise, I go with "(name of guy in your group) and the straight guys." Example: "Mike and the straight guys"

Our team name is "The Straits of Dover."

We were the only team to get this question right one night: "This body of water connects the North Sea to the English Channel. Someone with a "speak to your manager haircut" accused us of cheating. Threw a fit.

We had a professor of British history on our team who knew it immediately. We adopted that name and continue to piss her off with it.

Make up a name that makes fun of the host, another team, or the location. Won a few free pitchers for best team name at Mellow Mushroom on Oak St doing that.

If you're in BTR, want to keep it local, and delight The OT:

"No Gravy"

"No Gravy please"

Or something St. George related
