I posted this in another thread and it never got much of a reaction, but it boggles my mind. From 1941-1945 we fought a two theatre world war that cost 4.1 trillion dollars adjusted for inflation, the first part of a stmulus to combat what amounts to a really bad flu is going to cost half of what ww2 cost.

But many of us vote for fiscally conservative candidates and they spend the money anyway. Then we voted for new people and they spend the money anyway. Then there are peaceful movements and protests calling for fiscal conservative spending and new people get elected and they spend the money anyway.

Welcome to America of the last 50 years, where the average person no longer matters. Our political elites appease corporations and other political leaders and don't care what us average Joes want.

fricking vermin are too stupid to know where spending bills are originated from.

Why don't you tell us who in Congress is leading the way on budget management?

I am tired of fricking idiots.

The GDP is a little bigger now than it was in the 1700s.

Osama / Bush 2 really did a number on this country. Obama kept it going, and so has Trump.

I mean, the debt was only like, 8 trillion when Bush left office.

While true, when he took over in 2000 we had a budget surplus. Seems like such a foreign concept nowadays. He laid the groundwork for trillions in waste with the unwinnable war on terror.
