quote:

An airline passenger from Los Angeles was arrested at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport after Jefferson Parish sheriff's investigators discovered 53 pounds of marijuana in his luggage, according to authorities.

You’d think if he flew with it he would have packed it better.

Or not flown out of LA. Drive a state over and fly back from there

It's not clear whether Schobert had just flown into the New Orleans area, or was on his way back to California

Now there's a shocker

I imagine he's smarter than that.

Use the damn USPS or understand the inner workings of FedEx. Idiots.

And while the DEA is with him an 18 wheeler full of kilos goes right on by.

Legalize pot, it fills the courts, jails, and takes too much of the LEOs time away from real problems. Let those guys focus on drugs that are killing people.

I was in the USBP in my prior life. We used to throw out anything under 100 lbs as the US Attorneys office wouldn’t take the case and it was too much trouble to put it in evidence. Many times I drove down the highway throwing handfuls of MJ out the window into the desert. We used to laugh that if it would rain the sides of that highway would be a giant pot farm.

"Legalize pot, it fills the courts, jails"

but that's incredibly profitable for the courts and jails.

like that justifies the risk of flying with 50 pounds to a state where it's legal

I have a feeling the news article is getting it's facts mixed up
