So I can tell you don’t have kids playing sports….

Rec ball is NOT enjoyable for any kid that is halfway decent and wants to play high school ball, etc….

Plays other sports- basketball and football

And about spending time… what do you think we do at the ballpark? In between games, sitting together, hanging out, cooking, etc…

But yea.. I should use all that money to get into a deer lease and be away from home all winter…. Ok, great justification….

My kid did so much better when all i did was drop off/pick up/ pay the bill and cheer my arse off when she was dancing. Didn't try to coach or teach her...just let her teachers do their job and clearly that was the right thing to do.

Unless you are in some legit travel ball league, travel ball is the new rec ball. Each team has 3 superstars and the rest are decent players.

Unless you have someone who can get you on Squire Creek

Trail's End Golf Course in Arcadia is a nice course, it's probably 25 minutes from Ruston and open to the public. It's a tough tract

or

Lake D'Arbonne Country Club in Farmerville (I love this course)
it's about 30 minutes

neither are usually very busy

One of the guys has a brother that lives at Squire and is playing with us. I'm looking forward to it, haven't played out there yet.

You will three put at least 4 times.

Those greens are hard to read.

I've played it 7-8 times

You love it now because it's new... just wait until it consumes everything outside of your job.

Also just to add, travel ball has been around long enough, and has been the biggest producer of baseball talent long enough in some areas, that many current big leaguers actually were travel ball kids

ETA: an example would be Josh bell and Corbin Carroll. They played on the same travel team growing up

T-Rev had a great weekend in his first travel ball tournament going 7-11 and threw 5 innings giving up 1 run in the championship game.

If he wants to do that in the majors he either needs to live off of hot dogs and beer or be Japanese.
