Shee-it. Back in my day, coach would just spit some tobacky juice on the field, listen to how loud the sizzle was, and tell you if it was too hot to play.

Analytics are ruining the game.

That is a problem. And if you do not see it that way then you are extra retarded.

Take off your rose colored lensed white Oakleys and do what is right

If you were concerned then you should have had the balls to say NO! I'm willing to say some parents who feel the same was would respond equally.

She 8 years old plenty time to get the reps in front of the scouts for that that scolly later like 11&12 ball.
You lack balls to do what is right

or maybe just fricking maybe.....she got a little hot and over exagerated like young kids do and after she cooled off and realized there were consequences for something like that backed off the statement.

maybe him as a parent(which you obviously arent) realized that and did the right thing for his little girl.

sounds like you lack fricking balls to do anything hard. Sometimes things get hard and you have to learn to suck it up and fight through it.

i am the anti old school and feel like we should be giving water breaks if innings last too long etc....but frick you are arm chair parenting like a mother fricker when honestly is sounds like you dont know shite about sports and competeing.

No shite, I was wondering when it was going to end.

At first I thought I was looking at one of those optical illusion things that were popular in the 90's where if you stare long enough you'll see a dolphin or something.

that is how they paid for new equipment the next year, uniforms etc.

Oh, our league wasn’t that fancy and was through the local YMCA, or maybe the city’s parks and rec. I can’t remember. Uniforms were just a t-shirt and cheap baseball pants some local sporting goods store sold.

There was another league in town that had legit baseball uniforms, but I never played in that league.

What else are they going to do?

Go outside for a couple hours?

How are they playing Braxxton's walk up music without the "stereo in an ice chest" setup?

Hor the amount that turf costs you can build a proper field that also drains well and not create a dangerous environment of heat strokes for kids and their grandparents.

or you could build bleachers for the grandparents so they dont have to be on the hot field.

exactly....

ot

1) get your kids outside and tell them to play

2) scratch that...its too hot, but dont let them play video games

never ends with the ot.

if i have learned one thing in the last 2 decades of being on here.....no matter how much i spend time with my kids...im a shitty father and husband unless im spending pretty much every weekend drinking at the camp.

if you or your kids have interest other than that....the OT thinks you are ridiculous and robbing yourself of the weekend and robbing your kid of a proper childhood

i mean they scream about kids need to play sports...then when a kid likes a sport and wants to play more...the ot says...oh no thats too much, we didnt do that in my day

i also find it funny that the OT doesnt even realize that 80% of the kids in the BR and NOLA metro really only get the ability to truely play if its a form of organized sports or something similar. only exception is playing around in the back yard.

not like people in uptown are tellign their kids....get your arse outside and go ride your bike all around town

most of the places have bleachers. but bring a damn pop up tent and battery powered fans and some chairs. bring cooling rags and florida water. every place allows those things.

yall bitch about everything, dont want to have to pay for things, and want everything spoon fed.

That's not the point. The point is he made it seem like you have 2 choices; 1. Live at the travel ball field or 2. Your kid sits inside and plays video games all day and eats airheads.

Why does it have to be so black and white?

becasue according to the OT, if a parent lets a kid play a couple games with breaks in between that is fricking child abuse.....

also the OT, lock your kids outside and tell them to drink from the hose if they need water

his point was the OT is contradictory as frick and just wants to slam on travel ball cause they didnt have the makings of a varsity athlete or never had any desire to play so they look at tournament style baseball as the worst thing ever.

It’s exactly the point. Kids are outside doing something but you guys are judgmental about WHAT they’re doing outside. His point is that the kids are outside doing something. There’s a pocket of posters here that have a serious problem with kids playing ball in the summer. If your kid is not a lazy slob and isn’t inside playing video games the entire summer, it doesn’t matter what he or she is doing.

Bottom line is that the vast majority of kids playing travel and showcase baseball would chose to do that over damn near everything. Yeah, some parents ruin it but that’s the case with anything.

The heat radiates upward from the turf. There are not bleachers high enough to avoid it. It is physics. You know science? Haha also metal bleachers.

my youngest 2 are like that. i dont have to force my youngest to play other sports but i have to make my middle kid. He enjoys football but says that the practice interferes with getting better for baseball and he is only 9. its stupd lol.

ask prom about it...his kid is finishing up his first year and suddenly at the frick up with it too.

some kids just love baseball and just want to play no matter what. some arent and both are ok.

Youngsville is the worst. Who is dumb enough to choose such a dark brown color for the infield turf in Louisiana heat.
