Baton rouge proper police
This is the jurisdiction of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office which is run by an elected official, not an appointed puppet.
They don't suffer the same fate as the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Another win for the anti St George chodes. One less future potential taxpayer for the leeches to blame
What? This isn't the jurisdiction of the Baton Rouge Police or Fire Departments.

News reports saying ebrso called at 635 are wrong, 911 call was made at 4:54 pm, the ambulance was en route to hospital with ebrso escort by 5:20

Trashy people ruin everything. They are the real problem

Why do we as a society continue to put up with pit bulls? I’m so sick of all the excuses from owners and dog people.

River rats doing river rat things. Tragic.

Whomever owns the dog - put them in jail for life. Do this anytime someone's dog attacks a human and my guess is this problem would correct itself eventually.
You don't have to eliminate the breed. Just make it the norm across the board that if your dog attacks and hurts someone, it's an automatic life sentance.
Problem (eventually) solved.

Seriously we need to start putting laws on pit bulls. They need muzzles on them 24/7.
Then we can work on them being eradicated.
How many fricking attacks does it take to connect the dots. They are an awful breed.

The point re a Pit is that hold the ABILITY to kill.
Right. The dumbest thing ever is when people point out that some small harmless dog has a worse temperament. I don't care if a chihuahua is aggressive because I could kick one of those through a goal post. Pit bulls are powerful enough to not only kill children but adults as well.
100% of them should be immediately euthanized

TLDR did they catch it? I saw 3 EBRSO suvs patrolling the area this morning.

God that’s horrendous.

Wut? Strange reaction to this story. What could BRPD have done? Weird place to insert this opinion.

The owner of dog (or another nearby person) may have had other dogs that are loose, including a cane corso(what ever the hell that is) Somewhere near hoo shoo too yesterday a shitzu was killed by a roaming dog. For all of the hysterics over coyotes - other peoples pets are the real danger.

I think that we should eat Pit Bulls.

I own a very sweet, four-year old, sixty-five pound Marine-reformed Malinois (started life in their program and then got dumped into the civilian adoption program when her handler was accepted into OCS).
There is no way I would ever let that dog interact with a child unsupervised under any circumstances, snuggling or otherwise.
She's just too fast for a person to react to, as are most animals when you get down to it.
Like pits, Mals are bred and trained to be violent, and, in my opinion, neither breed should be allowed to be alone with - much less lay with - a child.

Maybe a special license to own/breed and house them like other dangerous wildlife.

Overwhelmingly one breed or a mix of that breed.
