We didn't have a gender reveal for either of my kids. I didn't want there to be video evidence of me being disappointed that we were having a girl. Update: 3 years in and I'm no longer disappointed that we had a girl the first time.
Plus, the world is filled with too much of the "oh, I'm so creative and different" bullshite as it is.

I wasn't there nor do I have any knowledge but a guy I trust went to a wedding and the grooms cake was the gender revel. Both in the same day, go figure.

We had a party on Mardi Gras day at the house with a lot of family, and had the color of the king cake baby (pink) reveal the gender of our last born. The party was kinda just a party tho, on Mardi Gras day, where we found out what we were having.
Pretty sure we would have had a big family get together anyways.

A girl from my high school decided to let her parents and n laws reveal the gender by using a slingshot to pop balloons. Only problem, none of the these people could use a slingshot. It was live streamed on Facebook and lasted about 45 mins to pop 5-6 balloons.

It's hard for me to criticize anything about having kids. I mean, these parties may seem trashy to you, but are they any trashier than being that weird DINK couple that you kind of think might be swingers? Those wackjobs are a big reason the economy can't grow without illegal aliens.

My grandmother had one where the only person entrusted with the gender of her latest addition to the family was one of her grandsons. We all went to a ballet recital that the boy was in, and the gender was revealed by the color of the tights he wore when he entered the stage. They were pink. Pretty classy.
