Not according to psychiatrists and psychologists, and the DSM-5. Gender identity disorder is no longer a mental illness . In other words, simply feeling or believing that one was born the wrong biological gender etc. is no longer a mental illness
he American Psychiatric Association, publisher of the DSM-5, states that "gender nonconformity is not in itself a mental disorder. The critical element of gender dysphoria is the presence of clinically significant distress associated with the condition." This must be present

Sorry, but will you have the same view if B4UACT successfully gets pedophilia removed as a mental disorder as well? They are gaining ground in the arena. Slowly, but ground given or taken is still ground made.

Don't fool yourself. Their suicide rates are astronomical. 41% of trans people attempt suicide and they are 26 times more likely to abuse drugs. When you don't "identify" with your biological sex, you're suffering from mental illness.
Serious question (though I know you won't answer it)- if a person identified as an animal or if a 30 year old white man identified as a 90 year old Chinese woman, would you say that person needed help? Would you let your kid have some quality alone time with that person?
Also, there are hundreds of doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists that refuse to accept the DSM-5's PC definition.

Yes, they probably need help because they are probably psychotic and delusional. If one has the belief that they are the wrong biological gender, psychosis should also be ruled out.
No, I would not let my child hang out with someone who has those beliefs . Or be in the bathroom alone.
Regarding the astronomical suicide rates, that is true. However the research also states that not all and maybe not even the majority of those with gender identity issues experience Long term dysphoria . So again, simply the feeling or belief that one was born the wrong gender is not sufficient criteria.
With that being said I am also of the belief that many, although not most, really do not have gender identity issues but are simply going with the in crowd movement

I believe they put that number at 7-12% with most being unreported. The other big number was that nearly 1/5 of all molested children become sexual assailants. Now this was a CNn doc so the numbers may be severely skewed, but it was an interesting watch and has me probably overly cautious and wary of who is around or with my kids.

I could see that. Trying to hunt the numbers down most said between 10-20% of girls and 5-10% of boys.
