A train going through Shreveport in the 90s hit a truck carrying Cadillacs. Caddies were strewn everywhere, truck driver was dead, train crew were injured, and crossing was damaged. The multiple lawsuits from that one wreck were something else.

As mentioned earlier; Yes, all crossings have an emergency number on the bungalow along with the crossing name and milepost. In the unlikely situation you should come up on something like this call the number. It goes direct to the dispatcher generally, and they can contact any train in the area.

Signal bungalow with emergency numbers
Some crossings may have this on the crossing signal itself;
Unsignalled crossings will have something like this;
My railroad had like the first example with the road name and such. The DOT numbers they punch into their computer to give the location.
Train crews generally know the names of all the road crossings on their route but the dispatchers won't. Hence going to DOT numbers.
