A train derailed in a train yard on La. 1 near the Anchorage overpass in Port Allen Wednesday morning, according to officials.

No injuries have been reported and no leaks have been detected, according to a state department of environmental quality (DEQ) spokesperson.

According to Jean Kelly, the DEQ’s public information officer, 25 Union Pacific cars went off the tracks near Sugar House Road. DEQ did a drone flyover of the site to confirm there aren’t any leaks present.

Rail cars come off the tracks pretty frequently. Just because you see the media headline “train derails” doesn’t mean you’re about to die

No word on how this affects crawfish prices, but expect the price to go up at least $1.50/lb then magically drop the day after Easter.

Are we going to have a thread for every rail derailment?

Can either want the government to control business or want the government to leave us alone... cant complain about a private business crashing their own trains. If the government does not clean up the mess properly or people get hurt then complain about that but I don't understand being mad at the government that a private train company wrecks their own trains.

I'm not a biden guy by any means but I dont see how you blame the president for private businesses mistakes.

Trump was right, our infrastructure is failing. But who will have the guts to rebuild, then or now?

I already called Gordon. He said the sooner you get in the more you'll get out of the class action.

You don’t “rebuild” infrastructure. If you once had the highest level of infrastructure and now don’t, that means you no longer have the citizens to maintain it.
