Buts its almost post-katrina traffic like.

You mean almost like there are thousands of homes flooded in the area and the people that live in them have migrated to temporary housing in the high areas of Baton Rouge?!

I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say. I am simply comparing the current traffic to the traffic in Baton Rouge after Katrina.

Good idea. You'll be there by halftime.

If you're not already on the road, you won't get there in time. Turn around and barbecue while you watch on TV.

Guys,
Every person who has complained about the traffic understands why it is what it is. I'm pretty sure those same posters spent most of last week either cleaning their own homes or helping others.

Sometimes it's just good to vent and/or joke about it.

It doesn't help that people are playing in their phones in traffic not paying attention. It's likely how most I10 accidents happen. That and the spontaneous combustion of cars at major Intesections. I'm starting to think we are on some alien reality show like in south park and those little guys are cracking themselves up fricking up our day.

Pointing out that the reasons are probably pretty much the same. Many flooded people have relocated to our city while they figure out their next move and traffic patterns shift accordingly.

EDIT: Use the opportunity to hatch some Pokemon eggs while you're crawling. Don't lie. You all play.

The rush hours this week have been stupefyingly bad, even by BR's own pathetic standards. But at least post-Katrina traffic could be attributed to tens of thousands of extra people in the city. I honestly don't know what the frick is going on this week. You can't move at all, and even the "back roads" are jammed the frick up.

The current traffic isn't a typical traffic day in Baton Rouge. There might be days, from time to time, when the traffic is this bad, but not day to day.

And yes everyone who lives in or in the surrounding areas are completely aware of what is going on and what has happened. And although it didn't directly impact everyone, those who were not directly impacted likely, at least have friends and/or family who were.

This isn't a "just to bitch" thread. If it was a regular traffic day and there was a wreck on the interstate slowing down traffic and someone started a thread about traffic, that would be bitching about it.

I swear some of you are dense. There are literally tens of thousands of extra people in this area because of the flooding. I don't know what to tell you if you can't grasp this.

There's been heavy traffic on small roads in Denham Springs too. It's because every homeowner that uses that road lost their home. They have family and friends coming and going constantly, along with out of state workers.

It is what it is. It's a good thing because many, many, many people are getting assistance.
