There's tens of thousands of people from all over the country helping flood victims. I'll gladly sit in traffic and be thankful.

Do you live in BR or live in LP/AP and commute? Living in BR and getting around town on back roads hasn't been too bad this week even with the semester starting

On that note, I will be on my horn today

I am acutely aware of what's going on around town. I don't think all of this traffic can be attributed to that.

To your point, there are less people commuting to and from work because they either lost their cars or are working on their property and or houses. So I'm sensitive to that but something is amiss here

Didn't EBR and the surrounding parishes get a bunch of rain a week or two ago?

- First week of LSU
- Schools still out for K-12
- Outside aid workers and construction crews
- Heavier concentration of people along the non-flooded i10 corridor staying in hotels or with family

I almost lost my mind yesterday afternoon. I've been invited to Friday morning's board meeting. b/c my clothes are crap, I tried to make a dash to Men Swearhouse off Bluebonnet to get something AND tell them I needed alterations by Thursday evening. Long story short, it took an hour to get from downtown to MW.

I'll skip the part about the retail people trying to upsell me on suits and other things that I'll never wear.

Downtown traffic is horrible too, esp with portions of River Rd blocked off near the River Center.

The only thing that pisses me off is people slowing down at the aqua dam like it hasn't been there for over a week now.

To the point of this thread, what is the reason the traffic has been horrible all week? Is it really because of all the people in town to help out? I know there are more people right now, going back and forth to and from baton rouge, from surrounding areas to, to help out family, friends, etc. Buts its almost post-katrina traffic like.

Something just occurred to me: this isn't traffic.

The word "traffic" implies movement.
