More like a liberal store. I went to the one yesterday at Acadian and the number of people in there wearing masks was nauseating. I coughed while passing each one just to piss them off.

What kind of wine are you expecting for three bucks?

I need to hit them up for some premade hamburger patties, they're hard to beat. My favorite in the Lafayette area.

Don't sleep on their twice-baked potatoes.

We used to buy them all of the time when we cooked steaks, good stuff indeed !

I didn’t expect much at all, but TJ was featured on something like 60 Minutes several years ago, and they bragged about that particular wine. I gave it a shot and, yep, it didn’t even live up to 2-3 dollar hype.

Trader Jeaux’s with frog legs & boudin balls.

Love Aldi, Trader Joe is too crowded with blue haired libtards. Joes will do well in Lafayette with the trytoohard affliction shirt wearin wannabees near River Ranch.

I don’t get the fascination with this store

Trader Joe's isn't for everyone but it is different than other supermarkets.
They contract with companies that supply products like you would find in Whole Foods or Health Food stores to offer the same or very similar products in cheaper "store brand" packaging.
If you buy a lot of stuff like Mournier's French Dijon mustard, Tom's natural toothpaste, Sir Kensington Mayo or higher end frozen products Trader Joe's is great because they have very similar products at a fraction of the Whole Foods, Publix or Health Food store prices.
If you don't buy these products or just don't care that they're expensive you're not going to see the appeal.
However, Trader Joe's will be packed regardless of other supermarkets in any area because no other supermarket is really doing what they do with cheaper versions of higher end, natural products.

I don't understand how that Natural Grocers is still open. Their rent must be through the roof and there are never more than 2-3 cars in the small parking lot when I pass by. Don't know anyone who shops there

HEB would've killed it where they put the new Rouse's on Camellia. I go often because it's close but their meat selection aint all that. Their beef selection is garbage.

My neighbor swears by their whole chickens. He says they are smaller and taste better because of the lack of hormones. I have no idea if that is true.

For the most part, it is. Every now and then, I stumble on a nice steak. Yesterday, I found a beautifully marbled prime strip in the case. However, overall, it is pretty bad and forces me to fresh market.

HEB

Publix
I have no issue with HEB or Publix, but neither is anything special other than a typical regional grocery store.
Trader Joe's has some decent self branded items and that location will do well with some good talent for single guys to go browse. That Rouse's across the street from where they are building the TJ is prime real estate to meet attractive single divorcees in Lafayette. I do not expect the TJ will be any different.
