Toyota Sequoia Opinion

Wife drives a Honda Pilot but looking to get something a little larger. We want something that is reliable and that's what pulling us toward the Toyota. I know the gas mileage sucks but how is the ride quality? Anyone have one and care to give their opinion versus Expedition or Tahoe?

It's a Toyota, it should be reliable

Spend they extra and get a land cruiser

It think they're doing a redesign on many Toyota models in the next year. If the Sequoia is in that group I'd wait a little longer.

The ride quality is real nice. 4 tires on axels, weight evenly distributed. There’s like a cushioning system that absorbs impacts from bumps/potholes, not like the old days with wooden wheels on stone or dirt roads.

My wife has driven 5 Yukon’s since 1995, seems to work out fine for us...

Mileage isn’t great but ride is nice. Great car for family road trips. Wife has one and loves it

Have a 2015 limited. Nice vehicle. Built like a tank. Drives well. Pulls a trailer well. Feels safe. Drive train wise no issues as all.
The bells and whistles suck. We went from an acura MDX. DVD player acts up. Navigation wont even let passenger use it while cars in motion. A/C control knobs constantly fall off and I cant find a way to glue them on without losing function. But nothing really breaks on the bells and whistles. Wife just says her moms Tahoe is a lot more luxury.
In closing, Im happy with it, wife hates it. Shes used to being spoiled and I just wanted a Toyota that I don't have to work on and is safe.

My dad has a 2008 and is coming up on 400,000 miles and has had zero significant issues. Not sure if they’re still making them as high quality

That's the only negative I hear is the technology and interior is really dated. The new Tahoe's coming out look nice but I worry about GM quality, I have a 19 Silverado that stays in the shop for recalls.

Love mine. Great ride. It’s surprisingly easy to maneuver given its size. Turning radius is great. I agree that the technology should be better and the gas mileage isn’t great, but I would buy it over again given the chance.

Sequoia will last longer than other options, but technology better in others. I would probably go tahoe (mpg, technology), unless you are 100% trying to keep vehicle 300k+ miles

on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the best.
Street Cred = 3

they will pull. i can tell you that. my old neighbor bought a bull and 3 heifers and needed to use my trailer. I volunteered to haul them but he wanted to do it on his own.

Will probably run forever but they look 15 years old right off the lot.
