I'd believe that. I see LX's everywhere. If you are going to spend the money the badge is probably worth it.

Might as well get a Range Rover. But then again Land Cruiser enthusiasts would balk at Range Rover reliability.

Just look at what is driving hundreds of miles a day over rocks and rivers all over central Africa every day and its Toyota Hilux.

They make cars you can mount machine guns on and pull thousands of pounds over the edge of a cliff for 400,000 miles and never break.

But suburban US doesnt give a shite about that

Land Cruiser will soon be pulled from the States

They will reintroduce it in a few years, and it will be all the rage. People love "nostalgia" - GM did it with the Camaro, and Ford pulled it off with the Bronco

Welp, should keep my 2020 LC Heritage Edition value up.

Not a shocker. Only idiots like myself will spend $80K+ for something without Apple Carplay.

Great run. Land Cruiser was everything Land Rover stopped being.

Land Rover was never even half-reliable. They never had the cash to build a Defender the right way.

Sequoia is not half the price, ~$48K+ SR5 and $60k+ for the Platinum, Sequoia is actually bigger than the LC too. Toyota keep their value too, unlike American competitors. The $80,000 (!) Suburban will be lucky to be worth $40,000 in 3 years, especially when GM keeps cranking them out for 72 months at 0% and good luck getting 5 figures for it after 150,000 miles.

Yeah that seemed to be one of the biggest complaints. But I’d rather no apple CarPlay if that meant I didn’t have some non-intuitive “infotech” display system that’s going to break after 3 years.

Hard pass on a 90k Land Cruiser that’ll hold its resale value with low miles like nothing you’ve ever seen...Gimmie that 90k GM-Cadillac SUV with the cheap plastic interior, poor reliability, and resale value that sinks like an anchor.

It was the gold standard eons ago.

I drove one for years. Spartan and reliable.

Toyota, like typical Japanese, copied and significantly improved it.

80s , 90s.

Meanwhile, the new $80,000 Chevy Suburban has a wait list.

Land Cruiser buyers don’t really do hardcore off roading in the US like you see people with the 70 series rigs do overseas. It’s turned into a heavy luxury vehicle with off road hardware.

In terms of the type of buyers and potential buyers...the higher end Chevy Suburban is the closest available vehicle in the US market to the Land Crusier. Well-off people with land tend to gravitate towards either one of them.

That and over leveraged soccer moms, although they seem to prefer the Range Rover to the Land Crusier in the past 15 years.

Just looked up a 15 suburban and LC. Burb was 33k. LC was 46k. I wouldn't call that keeping its value.

A 15 Suburban Z71 was probably about $20K less expensive when new than the LC. The 2020 models have gotten obscenely pricey.

It is and you probably can get over 300k out of it.

Call me old school, but if I’m dropping north of $80k on a vehicle I want it to be reliable and last a long time.

Yes, and they depreciated accordingly. The "Toyota's hold their values better than Chevy" is a myth.
