Ive got the 23 Tundra. Havent had any problems. Only time will tell.
You can thank the US government for forcing car companies to make engines more complicated to save fuel. Is it really better for the enviroment if the cars break sooner and you have to make another one?
Anyway, I bought the extended warranty so I am good up to 5 years 100k miles, Will reevaluate then.

There’s your problem. I owned a 2007 tundra with the 5.7 V8. Thing got like 200 yards to the gallon. But that engine was strong as an ox. I handed it down to my son when he was in high school. By the time she finally gave up the ghost, she had just shy of 300K showing on the odometer. I’m pretty sure had I not handed her over to a teenager, I could have got 500K out of her.

I'll probably get a midsized next time, mostly due to cost and having adult children.
I'd probably buy a Colorado/Canyon if I had to get one today, but my F150 doesn't need replacing anytime soon. I'll see what's available when the time comes. I just refuse to pay the price of the new full sized, and I'll have less need for one in a year or two.

always liked the looks of their trucks but heard too many negative stories about them.
What??
Toyota has been the most dependable trucks on the road for years.

No one should ever buy a truck made after 2020.

The Toyota V-8"s aren't that great, either.
They are underpowered relative to displacement, but they do get poor mpg, so there's that.

Not the new Tundra. Far from it.

Toyota has fixed the issue on the new trucks. I have a 2024 with a 100,000 mile warranty so I don’t care about the haters. I love the truck.

GM wouldn’t recall but would deny there are problems.
Ford likes to wait until the NHTSA tells them too. I'm not sure they've ever done a recall that hasn't been required of them.

I have a 2022 gladiator. It's been great so far. But I will say I know it won't go as long as the tacoma.
Was almost considering going back to 1 truck. But I like having 2

2024 models are failing too. They just aren’t recalling them. This is an open secret in the auto industry. The new Tundra is garbage.

Infiniti is about to roll out their new V6 3.5 twin turbo QX80.
I expect the same results.

For those who know nothing about cars, why is this a bad thing?
Aren’t all manufacturers being forced into the turbos for fuel efficiency?

Ford has done it for years. Their ecoboost didnt have issues like this
Wut.
I know several folks that had eco boost fords and experienced failures or a severe lack of power that caused them to dump them. Give me naturally aspirated power for full size trucks every day, please.

Pretty much, or they get some sort of tax credit for it. The funny thing is that they don't really get any better fuel economy on average.

What’s crazy is the mpg improvement isn’t a leap change, it’s barely better.
If I am forced into a v6, I want 30mpg.
