When is the state department going to set up travel warnings for travel to New Orleans?

500 Dumain right by Central Grocery at 11 pm? That's not supposed to be a bad area?

quote:Sundance Square and pretty much all of downtown Fort Worth is patrolled by City Center Security, owned by Bass Industries, the company that owns most of the properties in downtown. They don't take shite from anyone and the Fort Worth Police are an afterthought. New Orleans businesses need to do this.
The French quarter needs it's own private security force to patrol the area. Absolutely sickening. Zero percent chance any of Nolas best will come forward with any info.

Last time I was in New Orleans, there were state troopers all over the Quarter. Are they not there anymore? This was like a year ago.

Not all of the quarter is patrolled the same. It is a pretty big area.

I think that the State Troopers might not patrol anymore due to the budget.

There are plenty of cruisers in the quarter. Just passed some 20 minutes ago. Granted I don't know at what capacity they are policing. Could be less than years past, I just know they still have a presence there.
I think they are mostly from Bourbon to Decatur. Not sure how far they get away from the heavily trafficked tourist areas. There are a lot of dark spots down there and sketchy street people that have legally won the right to prey.

Nope, it wasn't. I can't even guess how many times I walked by myself late as hell in that exact area. It's a shame the quarter is so fricked up.
And since Frenchmen St became a tourist area, it's pretty much only tourists in that area. Which is potentially bad for the economy.
I think a lot has to do with Katrina kids coming of age. With shitty/nonexistent parenting, rampant gun violence in neighborhoods, and the shite kids dealt with from the storm, I bet there's a high PTSD rate for kids from that age range.
