Of course it does.

K. I mean, you're one of the ones posting in hysterics because someone has dared to say that New Orleans may not be an "elite" food city, and I'm the one eaten up with delusions of grandeur. OK.

I don't know if I would classify New Orleans as an "elite" city. It is a city with a lot to offer, though.

Lived here my entire life and I love my Culcha. All the haters are cucks who need to live in a safe space McMansion neighborhood and eat at Outback on the weekends.

Nice troll, but apparently daring to say that it's not "elite" is the exact same thing to others in this thread, so carry on, I guess.

Brah we mean elite as in terms of food. I'm not in denial of the city's shortcomings re infrastructure, crime, etc.

Omg you live in New York?! I can only dream of what it means to be such a cosmopolitan urbane gentleman such as yourself. If only I could afford an airplane ticket one day I could see the bright lights...

Yeah, see, this tactic doesn't work for you now, because you were casting aspersions of people being "hoi polloi" because they dared question things about New Orleans. Nice melt though.

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, it is an elite food city, for sure.

Mississippi Gulf Coast has great food too, btw.

Is the food experience great enough to overcome the ills of the city?

I think that's the question most folks that have visited or will be considering visiting ask?

I don't think it is any longer.

there has not been a drop in tourism, not even a sliver of a dip so what makes you even ask the question?

Dude, apparently 12 million people a year think the whole package is worth visiting. Be it food, fun drinking, architecture, museums and art galleries.
Check the hotel occupancy and rates any weekend September through May and it will tell you what people think.
And they can't build condos fast enough to keep up with demand in the city

See, again, this tactic doesn't work for you. You were calling out visitors as being uncultured and going to the wrong restaurants and then telling them to take a Carnival cruise in this very thread. It's a great try, however.

frick no. I can get the same type of food (or better)anywhere in South La. Especially since they've done such a good job of exporting creole cooking.
And it aint just the crime that makes NOLA a shithole. Its the filth, homeless people, poor planning, lack of modernization and confiscatory TAXES charged on rooms, taxis, meals, etc.

How many Red Lobsters does Erwinville have? Did you buy a new set of truck nuts for your F250 this year?

You are the worst kind of hater, an LA resident who is jealous he has to live in some Podunk town with nothing to do. Sorry you're butthurt about being a redneck.

Food and Wine certainly thinks NOLA should be up there with the elite.
